It's A Revolution Mother! (1969)

Every Weekend the CBS Late Show becomes Counter Culture Theatre playing the best in 60's and early 70's Counter Culture and anti-establishment films. This weekend we screen 'It's A Revolution Mother!" from 1969.

This documentary depicts the wild swinging youth scene of the turbulent 60’s, with in-depth footage of hippies doing a protest march against the Vietnam war in Washington, D.C., a rowdy New Jersey biker club called the Aliens letting it all hang out, and kids having themselves a groovy good time at a funky Florida rock festival.

COUNTER CULTURE THEATRE 2024

Based on Harlan Ellison's novella of the same name from 1969, A Boy and His Dog should go down as the most underrated movie ever made that revolves around an apocalypse. In this case, the landscape is a post-apocalyptic southern United States, set in 2024 as the titular duo work in tandem to survive the harsh realities they've become acquainted with. The boy's name is Vic, while his pooch's name is Blood. And in premise, A Boy and His Dog stands out from most other stories of its kind for featuring the concept of telepathy.
